Celebrating Cricketers
This is was an exceptional achievement and a superb addition to our portfolio. On completion of the project, Robert and myself were formally invited to the NatWest PCA Awards Evening at The Round House, Chalk Farm, London.
It was an exceptional evening and we felt very privileged to attend this prestigious Black Tie event.
On arrival we were greeted along with 600 guests including some high profile ex-cricketers from yesteryear to a Laurent-Perrier Champagne reception followed by a superb 4 course meal. The evening was hosted by Ebony Rainford-Brent and Mark Butcher with a welcome from the PCA Chairman Daryl Mitchell.
Following on with The NatWest PCA Awards for ‘Player of the Year’ John Denly (Kent). This was voted for by current players, Denly was rewarded for his mammoth 1,729 runs and 57 wickets across all formats in domestic cricket. Made all the more remarkable by the fact he had only taken 75 wickets in his previous 14 seasons.
Greene King ‘Team of the Year’ based on rankings of top performers, ‘Women’s Player of the Year’ Sophie Ecclestone to emphasise her rise to fame over a fantastic summer for England Women. ‘Young Player of the Year’ Ollie Pope (Surrey)
This was followed by an extensive Live Auction in aid of the Professional Cricketers’ Trust with a potential target of £80,000 to be achieved. The evening was concluded with an after party celebration featuring ‘Headline’ a nine piece group to call a very memorable evening to a close at around 3am.
