Creative Partnership with Northampton Town F.C.

From our very first conversation it was clear that Northampton Town Football Club seriously meant it when they said ‘We want to stand out, we want to be different to the rest.’ From day one our challenge was to deliver on this aspiration, creating a new presence for Northampton Town Football Club’s arrival into the SKY BET EFL League One. Pushing boundaries, daring to be different and ignoring what the rest are up to. That’s what we call ‘a perfect brief’.

The club had previously lost their way creatively, and required a new set of brand guidelines to piece their image back together. NTFC’s new strategy was to build a new team that was not just the professional squad, but also involved the devoted fans. Nothampton Town FC had upgraded their kit sponsor to Nike so it was integral to enhance the famous claret strip on muted white and grey backdrops.

As proud Northamptonians, and avid sporting fans, the phonecall from Northampton Town Football Club brought lots of excitement to the Blayney HQ. We had previously had the pleasure of producing content and marketing material for the Northampton Saints Rugby Club, but had never had the opportunity to work with the different shape ball. Contributing and being part of our local sports teams in the town is something we’re very proud of. As a family birthed business that has maintained a strong presence in Northampton for over 20 years, we recognise the importance of supporting and connecting with other local businesses in order to develop as not only individual outfits, but also to expand as a town.

Creative Responsibilities

Working with the in-house marketing team, it is our job to deliver content in a variety of sectors. From digital marketing tools for commercial events, to the matchday magazine that each season ticket holder collects. We’re the creative tactician that every sporting side needs.

SEASONAL LOOKS

New Season. New Styling.

Since our partnership began back in 2015, it has been our job to provide a new look and theme for all visual assets across all of the various platforms & formats in which the club releases content. You may be familiar with our explosive paint clouds of Cobblers colours, to glowing gradients and dynamic shards, we’ve now provided a variety of seasonal graphics for the club, and look forward to raising the bar again for next season.

CORPORATE

Dinners & Days Out

Aside from Football related content, a big part of our creative responsibilities is taking care of all of the corporate output, fulfilling all of NTFC’s print & design needs. We have been involved in a variety of events, such as; the End of Season Dinner, Annual Golf Days, An Evening with Paul Merson and Christmas Parties to name a few.

E-MARKETING

Newsletters & Updates

‘The Cobbler’ digital newsletter is one of the primary methods of communication between the club and their supporters. The combination of Personalised content and exclusive news and events is what makes these e-flyers, unmissable to the NTFC supporter base.

BRANDING

Behind The Scenes

There’s also a great deal of creative and design direction required behind the scenes at the club, especially within the Communications department. We have provided our expertise in redesigning a large proportion of the internal content such as presentation templates, ID Cards and Letterheads/Stationary sets.

MATCHDAY

‘The Cobbler’ Magazine

A successful match day takes a lot of preparation, and we have our part to play. Our tasks include; Season Tickets, Junior Fans Passport, First Time Fan Guide, Stadium Map, Staff Passes, Signage, Social Media content, Snapchat filters, Pitch side big screen visuals, stadium advertisement, Team sheets and much more. But our proudest contribution to a Cobblers home fixture, is of course, the Matchday magazine.
