The Literary Festival Booking System was no easy feat. There are many combinations of authors, time slots and days to contend with, so it pushed our developing skills to the max. We wanted the customer experience to be simple, seamless and informative, all encased within a 3-step process. The system also needed to recognise that a user can’t purchase more than one session with the same time slot for different Authors. Of course, all of this clever functionality was then integrated within the current CMS system which allows Althorp administrators to manage the Festivals content in-house.
Another key part of this unique booking system was to auto-generate a printed ticket with all of the chosen festival details. This not only cuts down admin time but also puts the Festival into an automated system for the first time.
The new system has already increased sales and has already changed the way regular booking systems engage with Literature fans. This years all star line-up with Brian Blessed, Sara Pascoe (left), Bill Bryson, Damian Collins, Tom Bower, John Suchet, Conn Iggulden, Suzannah Lipscomb, A.C. Grayling, Simon Hughes, Paul Gambaccini, Henrietta Knight, Jack Cooke, The Duchess of Rutland, Father Michael Collins, Earl Spencer (left), plus many more, is sure to be a great success.
Althorp also required the design and production of corporate facing marketing to entice this years sponsors. An ingenious tri-folding sponsorship packed was crafted using specialist card wrapped with a beautiful silk laminated outer with a foil blocked Althorp crest. A festival guide booklet was integrated into the pack and a right hand pocket was engineered to carry information cards so individual sponsors could be targeted with specific information.
